Ok for the poeple who don't know ANYTING about neons, here is the DL. A STOCK SRT-4 runs, AT BEST a 13.9 on the factory tires. On slicks, it is capable of running a 13.7 stock. In pheonix, the best run I have seen an srt-4 go is a 14.2 with a moddified wastegate(just put in a strong spring to retain boost longer). A $1000 to spend on a car, and only lost a second off the 1/4; he MUST have done that to prep for a better set-up. Kota on 20's, the neon doesn't really take-off until after the 1/8 mile. Because the gear ratio's don't allow them to stay in full boost really until the very end of 2nd through 3rd gear. So it is not very difficult for you to have taken the srt-4 in the 1/8 mile, because dakota's have WAAAAAYYYYYYY more torque, and they get far best 60' times because they are heavier and either RWD or 4WD.

About the maxima comment. Nissans and dodges are designed alot differently. Personally, dodges don't seem to be made for longevity, where as nissans are. A possible reason why vehicles that are romped on from the get go are faster, could be due to cam alignment, ECU tuning, type's of fluids you use(gas, oil, ect), or many other factors, who knows. Maybe you did a "homemade" bore and thus shortened the life of the vehicle. I don't think that the vehicle romped on from the get go is going to last as long as if you had taken care of it. You can't compare the same vehicle because every vehicle is different. Exact displacement and cam timing is different on EVERY car. So the car whose best timing is 0:0 on the cams and can capacitate 5 cc's more, will make more power. Just my .02¢.
