Message: not everyone. Have used the stock Champions at each change(30000 and 60000) and couldn't be happier. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. They are warranted better(unlimited mileage) than the Autolites, just got a refund check back from Federal-Mogul for what I spent on them.
2002 QC 4x4 Sport Plus, 4.7L, auto, Patriot Blue, Tire & Handling group, Heavy Duty Service group, Leer cap w/out windows, Mopar Step bars and roof rack, Rhino liner in bed and on step bars, Pace Edwards Power Tailgate lock 3.55 rear, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, all possible fluids are AMSOIL

Message: The concept behind the 3923's are that they are a heat rating cooler than stock. They were primarily recommended as a compliment to other mods: cool air intake, better flowing exhaust, 180 degree t-stat, etc.
Notice that everything here has something to do with cooler temps and better breathing. These mods are probably the best available for the 4.7 short of HOcams/intakes or forced induction.
Ive done all of the mods mentioned in the first paragraph and am quite happy with the cost per butt dyno hp.
You want real power, you gotta go blower, turbo, or NOS. (mucho dinero)

Message: What have you guys done with the heater hoses that run right over the intake. I thought the idea was for cooler air to the chamber.
I was thinking about using header tape to wrap them.

Message: I havent done it yet but your right, theres alot of heat there. Ive planned on insulating or rerouting them.
I keep putting it off thinking Ill get a heat shield built for my cool air intake first, but havent found the time.

Message: it seems as though some topics just don't advance much, what ever happened to evolution?
I guess it easier to just keep posting about the same topic for years, that to actually benefit from someone elses elbow gease and r&d! As in looking at what womeone did years ago on the same topic.

Message: Blame the lack of evolution on the aftermarket. Yet, Im finally starting to see some serious mods available for the 4.7 (KRC cams, blower kits, several flashes, stroker kits, etc.).
Quite often I see people complaining about rehashing old topics and not using the archives. But you contradict yourself by using that complaint and then asking about evolution.
How can evolution happen if your only using archives of past events? If nothing new was posted, there wouldnt be any room for evolution.
If I did a search on plugs, and found a new product or tip for others to see, and added it to the thread, someone would flame me for bringing back an outdated post.
You must blame yourself for viewing this topic. You half to admit you were curious to find new information here. Or did you just want to flame someone?

Message: I just installed a set of Bosche platnuim spark plugs in my 4.7L. They smoothed out the idle, gave more power and crisper accelleration. I figured I would go with a plug no one on this site recommended and see what happened. Very happy and they cost $1.99 a piece. Cold air intake is next! Chris
