my auto transmission on my 2001 4.7 is real herky jerky. When I put it in gear it makes a loud thump noise and is real jerky. It also jumps a little when I put it gear. Is this normal or not? I has a chevy 4.3 auto and it was real smooth, but my dodge has done this since i got it with 13,000 miles on it.

Gavin, I have the same probelem with my 01. I work at a Dodge dealer and they dont know what is wrong. Remember the trans. is elec. controlled. Nature of the beast, I guess. Chris

man, sometimes it feels like a hammer hitting my truck when i put it in gear, hopefully its normal, but it is rough.
