 Subject: Best Soun? Glass Pack!

Everyone on this board seems to dog the glass packs these were the original performance muflers. Go to a car show some time and look under those 50k dollar street rods and most of them have glass packs they might be crome but the are still glass packs. Dog me if you will, but glass packs are the best sounding mufler on the market, Hands Down.

I use the Goerlich Xlerator muffler. It sounds like a 60's hotrod. I use a single Tailpipe with a 4 inch resotube at the end. Im very impressed with the sound! www.goerlichs.com

i have a 5.9 qc 4x4 with a glasspack it sounds great.people thank i spent 2 or 3 hundred on it the glasspack was 20 bucks.
you can save a lot of money if you go with the glasspack
that way you can use the extra money on other mods.glasspacks are one of less restrictive muffler on the market

I aint hillbilly, but I'ms Kinda redneck. And my Glass Pack sounds as good or better than thosen $400 Momas' boys exhausts. Side by Side Comparisons with the high $$ systems, and most folks like the sound of my $18 glass pack hands down.

P.S. Bend your Yuppy self down some times and look under them true performance rides, that turn 10's and 9's and you will find a pair of glass packs on 99% of them that are street legal. Now Who Really Knows Good Exhaust.

i have a 91 5.2 with single outlet glass-pack and it flows better than the flow-pro i had. It sounds nice and deep too. only when you bust them do they sound like crap. mine is heavy duty built, hard to bust, bend, rust, ect. Pretty sure it is stainless. It cost me $40 installed, and $10 to remove cat. I also put the pipe straight out the rear, allowing more flow.(I'm adding duals later). After about a month they sound deep, yet powerful, like a big block. More bang for your buck. Unless you want to waste your money on fat mommas boys mufflers. any comments?

i have heard a R/T with flowmasters and it sounds like a performance truck, my 318 has a much deeper louder sound....there for i like my powerpack better...just my opinion

Well, on my 318 dodge ram, I cut off my stock, 44 inch muffler, and replaced it with a 2 1/2 pipe from the local parts store....best sounding, loudest, exhaust in the area... countless compliments, and the same number of complaints from people being woke up and setting off they're car alarms... but I sold that and bought a 2003 dakota, 4.7 5 spd, and don't know what it even looks like underneath, so I wondered what you guys are running thats good, and inexpensive..I've owned this dakota for 12 hours now

This is not to piss anyone off, after all it is all a matter of preference and the attention you want to attrack. I have seen first hand that with glasspacks you will stand out at times you will not want to. Myself and another guy were getting after it just a little from a stop light, a coulpe of blocks down the street I caught sight of a cop sitting a couple of cars back at a light. I braked and slowed to a respectable speed as did the other guy but his glasspacks were cackling as we rolled by, needless to say officer friendly singled him out and pulled him over. Just one other observance, in the same neighborhood as me there is a 03 Cobra and a 03 Ram Hemi, Ram has glasspacks, Cobra has factory exhaust, the Cobra kicks a$$.
