Hey does anyone out there have a Kenn Bell
supercharger? I'm getting very close to buying
one. Puttin it on 2000 4.7 C-C.
Can someone give me some input, that has one.
Are they all they say they are? How much of a gain
did you see? Did you put it on yourself? Was it
very hard to install? Are you going with the
6psi boost?
Thanks for the help anyone can give me!!!

BlowenBlu,

The KB 4.7 kit is a pretty tried-and-true setup for our motors. There are several out there with kits that have been doing fine for over a year.

It all started when Signman put one on his 4x4 CC Dakota. He went through some headaches during his install, because they hadn't made a manual for it yet. Since his install there have been plenty more to step up to the plate. Semi-hemi(Bill), J., Razor01, Aaron, SY KB, and others are running the system. The bugs seem to have been worked out, and they are doing just fine.

For those with some mechanical abilities, it's no harder to install than reading the instructions. If you're not very mechanically inclined, I'd suggest taking it to a certified mechanic. You do want to protect your 3,700+ dollar investment, don't you??? Plus the motor...

Hope he doesn't mind, but here's RaZor's recent dyno after the Kenne Bell kit on a 4.7 2WD Auto.

Good Luck with your project, and may the horsepower gods be gracious to you.

I had mine installed because my living situation at the time would have made it impossible to do myself. It doesn't seem too difficult. The hardest part might be the knock detector system. www.jeepsunlimited.com used to have a pdf of the install instructions at their website. Don't know if it's still there. They changed the website and it sux now. It is a 6psi system and works great on a stock setup. If you have an auto, I think it's the best way to go. If you have a 5 speed, then the Paxton would work great too from what I've read from notchlx. The 4.7 responds well to boost. You won't be sorry.

Thank for all the info!!!
Thanks for the dyno report, but it is blured.
I can see the green, yellow, and black lines.
Green= Hp? Yellow=Torque? black=????
Could you tell me which lines are which?

Yes my truck is a automatic.

Hey j I think we have twins!!!
I have a 2000 CC auto, clear corners,
Flowmaster catback, and soon to have Kenn Bell
S/C. By the looks of your picture, yours is the
same color blue (Intense Blue)
How do you like your water Injection? Did it make much difference when you added it to the S/C?

I added the water injection because I was getting some pinging under full boost. In California I cannot get the 93 octane that KB recommended for the s/c. I still have a little fine tuning to do with it, but it has stopped the pinging. I'll let you know how it works when I get it set up correctly.

Hey guys, look at the green and black. Those are the numbers after the install. The yellow is from before. It wasn't a very good print out when i got it. The printer was cold and not used very often. The green is the torgue and the black is horsies. The yellow is the old torque line and there is actually a red line that is the old horse( but ya can barley see it).
I will say i am having a problem now though. I have been blowing an egine code "No change in MAP from start to run". I am getting good actual vacum at the MAP sensor but for some reason sometimes the computer is not seeing a signal from the MAP for about 10 seconds. The really messed up thing is is that it seems to clear itself and run fine. Then it doesn't. I have had the sensor replaced but it still does this. I'm confused. The boys at the dealership seem to think there may be a problem with the software!! But its running fine now so I'm not going to worry about it unless it happens again.

ANYWAY, the kit is sweet. The directions are EXCELLENT!!! I didn't install myself but after seeing the directions i would probably atempt it. The wiring of the knock system is the only tricky part. The thing hauls ass. you will not be disapointed!!!
Sorry for the long post but if anyone has any ideas on that MAP thing let me know.

Hey guys
Thanks for all the feed back.

RaZoR1 sorry to here about your MAP code.
Hope you get the bugs out of it. Keep us posted.

j I live in PA, so I won't have a problem getting 93 octane. There is even a station
that sells 2+2 racing fuel. I'm not sure of the octane but it is very high. The only problem
with that is they will not put it in your tank.
You have to get put in a gas can. I may try it
someday after I get the S/C. I hope to have the
money saved up buy the S/C in July.
Also hope you get the bugs out. Keep us posted.

Don't buy a Paxton. You wont get all your parts, the wiring diagrams are wrong, some of the parts are pour quality, and dealing with Paxton can be a pain.

Horbedarn,

I see you have become the advocate in the Just Say NO To Paxton Group.

How's everything going with your setup? You get it to the track yet?

Did you send them info on all the stuff that you found screwed up in your kit? I did in hopes they would correct some things for future owners. Maybe they thought I was full of crap, so if you send something in, they may see good reason to change some things up.
