Subject: Automatic tranyLubeguard and Dextron III IP: Logged
Message: Is it OK to use this combination of ATF and modifier instead of ATF +3????
Guys in “Mr. Lube”(Canada) stand 100% behind it, and this is what I have in my automatic transmission (94 Dakota 4 x 4 5.2L Engine).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Peter

Message: Just make sure the "Mr. Lube" guys give you the number of "Mr New Transmission" man. Get the ATF +3. My guess is they don't stock it. And there's no way they'll "stand behind" it if it burns up.

Message: Don't let them do it. Use ONLY ATF+4 (it supercedes+3). Dexron is far too corrosive to the plates in the clutch packs and you'll be replacing the tranny in about 2000 miles. Don't let some bunch of greedy azz clowns ruin your transmission. They'll destroy your tranny, take your money for doing it and deny any liability. They have more money for lawyers than you do so you'll be left with thousands in repair bills and court costs.
Don't cheap out. Go to a Dodge dealership and have them change the fluid. Modifiers should never be used in our trannies.
