Subject: 5.2 Camshaft IP: Logged
Message: My 5.2 is mostly stock, and I want to make some upgrades; I want the engine to stay naturally-aspirated. I'm going to toss on a cold air intake, possibly some Mopar headers, and a full cat-back exhaust (rather than just the Flowmaster muffler I have now). My question is this: What will a camshaft change accomplish, and will it affect driveability/reliability? The one I'm considering is--
Mopar #P5249549
Lift .458/.467
Advanced Duration 260/264
Center Line 109
O - Lap 55
Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

Message: Go with the bigger of the two mp cams. I had the basic R/t and if you get into more mods in the future it just isnt enough. i would strongly encourage you to go with the bigger of the two, its not that big compared to some other out there.

Message: Thanks for the info. I also started researching Magnum cylinder heads--I read a few articles, and apparently they add significant power. Or so they say. Hmmm.

Message: Just buy the 1.7 RR's. easier and you get the same results.
