Message: OK, here is an observation I want to know if anyone else made:
Bought a '03 CC 4.7 5-speed 4x4 with 11 miles on it. It felt VERY sluggish compared to the '00 4.7 5-speed 2wd HO-ified I traded in. Then at about 500 miles, it woke up a LOT.
Is this 500 mile low power break-in coded into the PCM somwhere for inital break in???
Anyone else notice this? It could be why the 4.7 is not getting good reviews off the dealers lot like it should...

Message: Chris, I don't know the specific answer to that
one because I've only got like 650 miles on
mine and haven't given it the gas a lot yet
because I want to break the engine in properly
... But I did notice something with my wife's
Liberty 3.7l: At or around 5000 miles, the MPG
went up significantly! I was really disappointed
in the gas usage with it, but since that 5000 or
so miles was up, it's gotten toward the high
end of the MPG expected on the sticker.
Since the 3.7 is the little cousin of the 4.7,
something like what you're writing doesn't
surprise me in the least!
