Subject: Evaporative Leak IP: Logged
Message: My emissions light in the dash clsuter has been comming on lately (I have reset the computer a few times and it comes back on). Yesterday I started the truck and the light was out but I did not reset the computer. I ran a check and two stored codes came up. One was for a leak detected in the evaporative system and the other was a "small" leak detected in the evaporative system.
Does anybody know what could be triggering the codes to come up?
Thanks for the help,
Matt...

Message: Thanks for the reply J. I have heard of that happening to earlier models but thought they may have changed it on the newer ones. I will keep it in mind when I refill and make sure I turn the truck off.

Message: I recently ran into the same problem. I bought a new gas cap and reset the computer. Haven't had a problem after about 50 miles.

Message: Well... I got up to come to work today, hopped in the truck and fired it up. I got about 2 miles down the road the the light in the cluster came on again. I am going to try the new cap (see if I can get it under warranty too.)Thanks for the advice.
