Does anyone know how to remove the shifter knob, on a 2002 5-speed, it's the same as in the 2001s. I can't figure it out, and don't want to damage anything.

I'm guessing that it's the same thing as in my 2000. You have to pop the center (with the gear diagram) out. If you pry with a screwdriver very carefully, you won't damage anything. Underneath the cap is a nut...I think it was 13mm.
You really never learn how to swear until you learn to drive...
