Message: I was just wondering if this makes much of a difference on the 4.7L? I am thinking about doing it... if I do is there anything else that I have to do, or can you just upgrade the PCM?? And does anyone know how much ir runs, and who sells it?
Thanks

Message: There used to be part numbers listed on the Mopar Performance website for 4.7 Dakotas (I can't check it now, because their web page is down). I think they were only for the first year and then they either discontinued them or never actually produced them because of emission problems. If they did produce them for a few months, there are sure to still be some out there.

Message: Well im not sure about the 4.7 but i know on the 5.9's it does wonders... Truck launches better... limiter with the stock computer was 115... PCM's limiter is 135 so its well out of range unless I feel like being a suicidal maniac and push it that far someday. I also noticed when it takes off... it runs the gear out all the way to almost 5500 RPMs then shifts... Deffinatly feels like it gets much more out of each gear. And of course I noticed you have much more power at higher speeds...

Message: There is NO mopar pcm for the 4.7L and never will be. I called Mopar and talked to one of the techs. They said the part number was a fluke and that the PCM never passed emissions. On every other site where there is a pcm listed this means it is a fluke as well. I have a 4.7L as well and would love to have one of the PCM's even if it means I could never live in california. But for now it seams like the only options for removing the speed limiter and getting that performance are the ASE chip which I think you have to send your PCM to them. Or the Mike Leach reprogramming which you have to send your PCM away for as well. Eventually Hypertech (I called them as well) said they were going to make one for the 4.7L but as of now they haven't. They said there isn't much interest right now. So call them and show some interest...I think I called or e-mailed almost every damn company. The hypertech would be nice because those are generally plug and play.

Message: Well from what iv seen on the R/T Forums there is no PCM for any 5.9 models older than 2000. 2000 was the last year for the PCM for the 5.9's... Hell, that makes ya think.. what cars do they still make PCM's for?

Message: Well as long as their still making performance trucks like the R/T commons sense should tell you to keep making the performance PCM's to compliment it.

Message: Yes, I agree there are no MP PCM's for anything newer then 2000 but that doesn't mean the 2000 4.7 owners are completely out of luck. I do think that a few of these MP PCM's for the 2000 4.7 were built. If you have a 2001 or a 2002 then your out of luck whatever Dodge you drive. The actual Mopar website lists the following part numbers:
2000 Dakota 4.7 4x2 federal - P5007196
2000 Dakota 4.7 4x2 cali - P5007197
2000 Durango 4.7 4x4 fed - P5007209
2000 Durango 4.7 4x4 cali - P5007210
2000 Jeep 4.7 4x4 federal - P5007199
2000 Jeep 4.7 4x4 cal - P5007200
I believe these are in the catalog as well. It is possible that they were getting ready to release the PCM and couldn't get the CARB exemption, so they pulled the plug on it before it ever came out.
