Message: I had the same problem with a cam I got from Marty. What is your cam specs, and what is the gap on your plugs? Also make sure your TPS is set correctly and not to high or low, and don't use vacum port on the side of intake manifold for your MAP sensor?
email me offline, and I can help you out.

Message: Im guessing you have the same problem i had. It pops in high revs right before the shift? Try grinding the spacers down for the M1

Message: had it in my 96. couldnt figure out how it was burning oil, the bloody intake pan was warped and it ate its gasket. this shouldnt happen if it doesnt backfire heavily or periodically. just watch out.

Message: Usually a backfire through the intake indicates a lean condition. At high revs right before the upshift the engine requires more fuel. Warm up the truck and make a hard run. When you top second gear, shut the engine down and put it in neutral. Coast to a stop. Pull the spark plugs and read them. If they are real clean, you are probably runnig lean. They should have a brown tint look to them. Do this on a back road or the drag strip. If you do it at the strip ,tell the starter what you are doing and have a chase car follow you down the track and tow you to the pits. If you run the engine at an idle you will not get an accurate high speed reading.
