i just bought a 99 grand cherokee with a 4.7 engine in it,it has 120k on the engine its running rough even after i did a tune up on it, some mechanic told me i had a head gasket problem i want to know how much will i spend for the repairs ...

If it's his 3rd head gasket, could it possibly be a problem with the block? Would decking it do anything?

Don,t let them do only one head. You need a matching set plus......Buy the very best head gaskets you can. I've never bought a set but I understand there are some much better ones avalable for use with a S/C .

So many problems .... So little time

They are aluminum heads. Hopefully the previous owner did not overheat the engine. They could be warped. And that would suck. But may be repairable by milling, etc.
