 Subject: New Dak owner Question

Hi all, I just picked up a 2001 Dakota Quad cab 2 wheel drive 4.7 5 speed manual 27k on it, these trucks are nice i had no idea, anyways my question is i would like to change out the muffler on it to a 3 in and 2.5 dual out. Witch muffler will give me a deep V8 sound no poping to it just a little louder than stock?? I have been reading for hours on these boards and just dont know, any help would be great, Thanks

I have a Gibson single swept side on my truck that gives it a nice rumble, but is very quiet inside, outside its pretty loud, not like a flowmaster 40 loud, but decent (yes i did have someone drive my truck so i could hear it :) )Check out Gibsons dual setup for the dak, could be what you are looking for

Guess it all boils down to particular taste. Tried gibson and others and finally decided on Flowmaster 40's. A little loud on the inside but just right on the outside and folks always wonder whats under the hood. Whatever you choose it will definitely be better that the stock junk from the factory!

hey everyone i got a 97 dak 4x4 it has full edelbrock headers and a gibson side swept exhaust on it and it sounds bad as hell, not load but not quiet eather.....i got it installed at dessert rat in arizona they had a kit for my year....also i got a cold air intake on it and it really helped as far as peformance and sounmd...hope this helped....later...

wow your in peoria....im in avondale....trippy...dessert rat is on 19th ave and cactus go south on 19th and it is on your left side you cant miss it...later bro......rick
