 Subject: Quickie Question About Spark Plugs

I went and got 8 Autolite 3923's from O'Reillys and opened them up to look at them and make sure none were broken. I notice a ring with each spark plug. Every time I helped change the plugs in the AMX we have I don't remember there being a ring. So what is the ring for?

I assume you are talking about the silver washer ,gasket thing in pkg, it is a gasket... some vehicles require this and some don't. if it came with plug install it on plug, install using the larger end toward plug.

is it a split ring? I've noticed in changing the spark plug in the lawn mower and other small engines that they have a split washer on them.
