Subject: 4.7 stall probs IP: Logged
Message: it doesn't matter what the temp is outsied. when my 2000 QC sits for a few hours and I try to start it, it revs up like normal and then drops to about 500 for a few seconds and then it just stalls. Some times it catches itself and revs up real high and idles normal. I bought the truck about a year ago with 32000 miles and since then I have put another 34000 miles on it. It has always done this, some times more than others? Any help?

Message: Is it a 5-speed. The 2000 5-speed had a problem with dying, I klnow my old one did. I took care of it by always keeping it either on deforst or A/C so that the idle was bumped up to 650/700ish, otherwise mine would die all the time..

Message: Nope, on the 2000 it is the IAC motor not being responsive enough. Many have changed theirs back in 2000 and had it get better but only for a while.

Message: I never found a problem. Looked quite a bit when the truck was newer... as of 85k miles it would still die..
Sorry.
