it doesn't matter what the temp is outsied. when my 2000 QC sits for a few hours and I try to start it, it revs up like normal and then drops to about 500 for a few seconds and then it just stalls. Some times it catches itself and revs up real high and idles normal. I bought the truck about a year ago with 32000 miles and since then I have put another 34000 miles on it. It has always done this, some times more than others? Any help?

Is it a 5-speed. The 2000 5-speed had a problem with dying, I klnow my old one did. I took care of it by always keeping it either on deforst or A/C so that the idle was bumped up to 650/700ish, otherwise mine would die all the time..

Nope, on the 2000 it is the IAC motor not being responsive enough. Many have changed theirs back in 2000 and had it get better but only for a while.

I never found a problem. Looked quite a bit when the truck was newer... as of 85k miles it would still die..

Sorry.
