Message: I HAVE A 96 DODGE DAKOTA ALSO THAT KEEP LOOSING THE OIL PRESSURE. I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT DODGE WAS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH LOW OIL PRESSURE SO THEY MADE THE THE BARRINGS TIGHTER SO THE OIL PRESSURE IS HIGHER. THE PRESSURE RELIFE VALVE IN THE OIL PUMP GET TO MUCH OIL PRESSURE AND IT OPENS UP TO BY PASS THE PRESSURE AND THE OIL PRESSURE GO TO ZERRO. YOU NEED TO USE LIGHTER OIL FOR DODGE 5/30 OR 10/20 NOT HIGHER THEN THIS. THE HIGH OIL PRESSURE WILL GET AT TIMES TO 75 LBS AND THE VALVE WILL OPEN AND WILL NOT CLOSE UNTILL THE ENGIAN IS TURNED OFF TO LET THE OIL PRESSURE FROM THE PUMP GOES TO ZERRO. THEN THE BYPASS VALVE WILL CLOSE AND THE OIL PRESSURE WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL. SOMETIMES YOU DRIVE AT A SLOWER SPEED WHEN THIS HAPPENS BUT AFTER YOU HAVE GOTTEN OIL PRESSURE YOU CAN KEEP OIL PRESSURE TILL YOU GET IT HOME WITH THE RMP NO MORE THE 1500 OR THE SPEED 45 TO 50 WITH OUT HAVING TO PUT THE ENGIAN IN A HARD PULL OR USE. CHANGE THE OIL PUMP AND CLEAN OUT THE OIL PASSAGE FROM THE OIL SENDDING UNIT YOU WILL FIND CARBON BILD UP THERE IN THE UNIT AND AROUND AND IN THE HOLE. COMMON PROBLEM WITH DODGE 318/360/V6. GOOD OIL DON'T USE OIL ADDITIVES THE ADDATIVES WILL HELP CALLES CARBON BUILD UP UNDER THE PISTENS AND WILL FALL IN THE OIL PAN AND THE OIL PUMP PICKS IT UP AND CLOGGS THE OIL PUMP SCREAN AND THERE IS A PROBLEM. THE OIL ADDATIVES YOU PUT IN THE MOTOR OIL TURNS INTO THE CARBON FROM JUST SITTING UNDER THE PISTON BECAUSE THE HEAT FROM THE FIRING AND IT IS MADE TO BE RUBBED WITH FRITION AND LUBICATION BUT WHEN JUST SITTING IT WILL DRY AND BURN TO A HARD FIBER THAT WILL TURN IN TO CARBON. SO I USE A OIL CALLED D-A OIL LUBICANT. I HAVE FOUNT BY USING THIS PRODUCT FOR 30 YEARS SEEN IT CLEAN ENGIANS ON THE INSIDE TO WHERE IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS NEW. I MEEN THE ENGIAN HAD SO MUCH SLUGE I CLEANED THE ENGIAN WITH A PUDDY KNIFE ON THE INSIDE TO GET IT OUT BUT DID NOT USE A FLUSH AFTERWORD I JUST PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND RAN IT FOR A YEAR BECAUSE THE OLD WATER PUMP LET GO AND STILL DROVE IT HOME ANOTHER 75 MILES YES THE ENGIAN GOT HOT I STOP TO LET IT COOL BUT KEEP PUTTING WATER IN IT TO COOL IT DOWN THE HEADGASSET BLEW. WELL I STILL DROVE IT ALL THE WAY HOME WITH A GOOD LAUGH BUT THE NEXT DAY I STARTED IT UP IT RAN GOOD SO I TOOK IT APART THE CHANGE THE WATER PUMP AND THE HEAD GASSET AND THE ENGIAN WAS SO CLEAN BUT THERE WAS SO MUCH SLUGE IN THE OIL PAN WHEN I TOOK IT OFF IT WAS HARD TO BELIEVE TO SEE HOW CLEAN IT WAS. I USE D-A OIL IN EVERYTHING AND ALL MY CUSTOMERS CARS AND TRUCKS AND NEVER HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH THERE CARS OR TRUCKS. BETTER OIL LOWER OIL RATING 5/30 OR 10/20 OIL ONLY IN DODGE
