Message: I had this same problem, turned out the gas cap wasn't closing up good, thus causing the dad burn light to come on.

Message: The check engine light on my '01 4.7 came on at 71K miles. I tried the on/off routine, and a code never did pop up. I removed the battery cable, and waited 20 seconds to replace. Started engine; no check light now. Thanks, guys. I suspect not enough clicks of the gas cap.

Message: On my 97 5.2 the check engine light popped on a few thousand miles ago and i had it checked and the diagnostic said my cylinders were misfiring, but the truck still runs like an ass whooped monkey, so i have no clue, it will turn itself off and then come back on again about a week later.. check your 02 sensor, thats the most common thing to set it off... hope this helps

Message: There are many things that can cause your injector code. The reason the code set was because the engine controller did not "see" an inductive spike after it energized the injector. When any solenoid is electrically triggered a magnetic field develops in the windings of the solenoid (injector in your case) and after the current flow through the windings stops a voltage spike is induced. The engine controller watches for this induced voltage spike to tell if the injector is working properly. Things that can cause this problem include shorted/open wiring, a faulty injector driver, loose connection or obviously a bad injector. Electrical "noise" can also cause this code. There is a TSB from Chrysler about false injector codes and states that a reflash will cure them. The real culprit causing the "false" codes is the throttle position sensor. As the TPS wears out during use, it can develop voltage spikes that can cause the engine controller to think you are rapidly hitting the gas pedal. The volt spikes are so fast that the injectors can not possibly supply the proper duty cycle and the code appears. Most of the time almost all of the injector codes are set but sometimes only one or two. This is fairly common and can be repaired with a new TPS. It is unusual to have a faulty injector without a noticeable missfire. I hope this helps and maybe it will show some people that the "magical" scan tool does not actually tell the technician what is wrong but in fact just points them in a direction of where the fault was set.

Message: I have a 2000 with the 4.7 V8 with 36K on it. The engine light came on a yesterday. I tried the ignition on off on off trick and came up code p-0201. This is injector #1 communication fault. Has anyone experienced and fixed this problem?
illtry has an interesting response. Not sure if I should try replacing the injector assembly or the throttle position sensor.
Any ideas?

Message: Well I found out what caused the engine light to come on turns out it was the 02 sensor which is located just before the cataylic converter needed to be repalced and I have changed the back one yet but its next. I did find that when I replace the front one I improved the gas mileage. Thanks for your help.
