Message: The best system in my opinion is the new ATI
procharger. It runs the same 6 psi as the other SC's but
it is Air to Air intercooled, which means that the intake
air is signifcantly colder which results in more HP. Also,
with ATI you can buy an upgrade kit (bigger turbine) to
run sick amounts of boost. Hope this helps.

Message: I like the KB too, but I've never tried anything else so it's impossible for me to compare. Don't know if the KB works as well on the 5.2 as the 4.7 either.
2000 4.7 CC auto, clear corners, Magnaflow catback, Kenne Bell s/c.

Message: I agree w/ Rod...the ATI is one of the best out there.
Also consider the Paxton Novi 2000 thats right up there w/ the best.

Message: The ATI unit has the intercooler under the truck and the air intake brings in hot air. Was this an old design I saw by chance? I wasn't too impressed with the ATI setup I saw.

Message: The 5.2/5.9 all around top performers right now are the Vortech S, SQ, and T-trim chargers. If you plan on running more than 8psi, you could run the aftercooler.
The Paxton Novi-2000, I only know of one who has installed. Bob Mankin. Sweet set-up on his ride. He's running 13.30's @ 108mph...That's cooking along pretty good, and he's on street tires too. The mph shows he's easily in the 12's.
The Kenne Bell on the 5.2/5.9???? Don't know of anybody running one. Just about all of the 4.7 guys are happy with their kits, until some get greedy and up the boost. Something about the extra boost, and gaskets don't seem to go together very well. ;)
I only know of one person with the new ATI kit, and he's had an ass-load of driveability issues. May just be his application and install, I dunno??? But then there is CRUZNLO, who fabbed up a kit on his truck. He seems to talk highly of it, I believe it's an older kit though?
I can speak for the NOVI-line from Paxton. They sucked at getting everything in the kit. Might just be an isolated issue, but I was missing several parts from my kit initially. They did get the parts to me without hassle. It took them a while, but they did get them to me. The install was at times a pain in the royal arse, but I had only done one other charger install, and it was on a Mustang. I have the 4.7, and the only option for the NOVI's, was the 1000. It definitely woke the horses up under the hood, for an entry-level S/C. It took the stock truck's Rear Wheel HP & Torque numbers from 201RWHP & 273RWTQ to 304RWHP & 351RWTQ.
Boost is boost, you'll have a ball with whatever kit you decide to go with.
PS...If the loud whine is your candy, then the Vortech S-Trim, or Paxton would be it...
Or, if you plan to creep around in stealth mode, the Kenne Bell, or Vortech SQ-Trim.

Message: How about some opinions on the oiling systems on the superchargers? I am leaning towards the self-contained system. Although it is not filtered I have seen what the filtered engine oil looks like after a few thousand miles and think the self-contained systems might be the better design. Thoughts?

Message: I've only had the chance to put about 5,000miles on the truck with the supercharger, and so far I have no complaints.
There are many others out there, who have been running Vortech's, Paxton's, and Prochargers that recquire the oil line, that have been running them for years with no problems.
Self contained is cool, but I like just changing my oil as normal. I have since found out that there is a way to run the return line, without even tapping the pan.
