Message: You'll probably need the dual plug setup. I have a 2000 also. Mine is straight 4" pipe from the collector to a dual split. No mufflers or cat. (off road use only you EPA nazis!) It can vibrate windows across the street at idle...lol
Its loud, obnoxious, and screams "Im 17 again"...but I love it.
You should have seen the "war protestor" in my town when I did a Prostock style burnout with the exhaust tips pointed right at them. They were running for cover when I unleashed the "wrath of the 360" on there stupid azzes

Message: All the sim box does is tell the computer everything is hunky dorey and dump some fuel in the motor please. The FI system relies on the O2 sensors to constantly adjust fuel mixture.
As far as my exhaust, I can install a muffler if I needed too. My truck is not a daily driver. A decent sized Flowmaster or quality muffler will quiet the truck down a few decibels. Go with a quality stainless steel muffler. Do a search in the Performance forum. There are a few recomendations.
The passenger side had loads of room for any size muffler and pipe.

Message: No need for a O2 simm, just remove the rear O2 from the pipe, plug the hole, and wire tie the O2 to the frame rail. You won't have any problems like that. I've been running mine like that for well over a year with no codes.

Message: look under ur truck to see how many cats u have. if u have one after each exhaust manifold and one larger one before the muffler u need the dual cat system but if u only have 1 visible cat then its a single. dont be scared to get dirty, get under ur truck and look.

Message: Better yet, dont worry about having to by-pass and electricals and just get a high flow cat so you are still legal and dont flow any codes, then get a 10 series flowmaster, loud as they get and beautiful when driving....my op anyway

Message: I've done the whole high flow cat bit, and had two high flow cats go bad, and still popped codes with them in. The '00 R/T's only have ONE cat, and TWO O2 sensors. Just remove the rear O2, and zip tie it to the frame rail. Problem solved, and no money spent on O2 simms. The O2 tied to the frame rail appeases the PCM to think the Cat is doing it's job. The only reason for the rear O2 is to check cat efficiency. You weren't asking for how the O2 simms worked, so don't worry about why tieing the O2 to the frame works, just know that it does, and is a free mod.
