 Subject: 2WD to 4WD Swap

Hi I have an '88 Dakota currently it is a stock 2WD with a 3.9L V6, I am putting a 3" body lift and lookin into putting a 4WD transmission it it. I was wondering how much that might run me money wise and labor wise. If any one knows anything about this please let me know.

This swap is very costly and inadvisable. Trade your truck and buy what you want. It may not be what you want to hear, but it will save you money.

The frames are completely different so if you plan on using stock IFS front and rear SOA it's very near impossible.
Do what GR said and trade it. The only other option is a solid axle conversion but that should only be attempted by a real pro. Any idiot can stick the parts on but it takes a lot of skill and knowledge to make it all work well together.
Just trade up.
