Message: Id like to hook up an auxillary oil guage in my truck. I want to buy a autometer guage, but i have no clue where to even start hooking it up. I own a 92 dakota with a 5.2 liter. If you guys can help me witht the project, i would greatly appreciate it.

Message: mopar offers autometer guages. Theirs have the crysler hexagon on the face with silver backing, they look awesome. and they are cheaper than the same size white face from autometer.
I have a 93, i mounted mine in the dash. i took out the vent right above the overdrive button and light switch. I had to trim the dash a tiny bit and trim back the pipeing, and it slid right in. I filled in the space around it with a piece of plastic i cut from a tool box(it had i cool texture to it)

Message: the factory sender is at the rear of the engine near the distributor... Kinda hard to get to.

Message: If you feel confident enough just lift you distributor out and then you can reach the oil sending unit.
Simply remove the stock one and reinstall your new adapter (comes with you new after market gauge) then route your hose but watch whnyou uncoil the new hose it will try to kink on you and brake. the rest is in the dash placement.
NOTE: if you pull the distributor carefull to not turn the notch 180 degrees out.
Install. is easier than sounds.

Message: you will need a oil pressure sending unit socket, you can get it anywhere and on my 93 you don't need to take out the distributer. just use a long extention on the socket. To bypass the old unit, you will have to remove the light bulb from the oil dummy light on the dash or it will be on all the time.
the sending unit is about 3" long and is black right directly behind the intake manifold
