Subject: 4.7 dak vs. boxster on road course IP: Logged
Message: i have a video clip of this on my ewb page. go to the page and click the link at the bottom.i went to my local track, No Problem Raceway, in Belle Rose louisiana for laping day on the road course. this video was taken from the boxster. if the track would have been dry, i don't think he would have been this close. the track was wet in alot of places, so couldn't go all out. my brakes are stock and overheated after 10 laps, if you know were i can gets some brake upgrades please let me know. i think this says alot for the dakota and i'm proud to own one. tell what you think.

Message: Gotta admit, that vid sure makes my itch for the track. Im interested in your other mods. No offence but its hard to believe a Dak can hold off a Boxster. BTW, bad @$$ hood.

Message: nice truck, I think the hood is a wee bit extreme though imo. To each his own though, as for the boxter what have you done other than suspension and nuclear-cowl hood? If just those mods no way you could hold the boxster off, sorry man.

You have to pay to play, but you'll end up spending less overall with the Dak than with the Boxter S :)

Message: circus boy,
heres what I saw on the video:
1. He was filming you, staying behind you
2. He barely even squeeled his tires following you, based on the souldtrack, and wasn't pushing too hard.
3. He probably didn't want to pass on the twisties, as both are expensive personally owned vehicles.
4. He waved as you slowed and waved him by.
I dunno, that's just how I saw it

if you watch the last turn i waved him by after going through the water. i'm not willing to shift into 4th at 5,500 rpm with wet tires. i figured if i told you the story you would laugh. so the video would back it up. the hood came from hairyglass.com. it was $210 + s&h. you can get carbon fiber for $410. as for the tires, mine are h rated, not realy good for racing, lol.
where do i get the SSB disc brake conversion?
thanks for all the comments.

Message: So what your saying is you can't back it up. I kinda thought you would have more than an air intake and some plugs with a hood like that. Maybe if you put some racing stickers on your truck it will be faster. With that hood and some stickers you will be ready for the GT2 porshe.

Message: Why all the negativity?
It looks like he was having a great time on the road course with his Dak. I would LOVE to get some track time like that. The fact that the Boxster guy had him on video just makes it even better. No, I don't think the Boxster was giving 100%, but was out for some spirited driving just the same. It's a track day not a race for positions.
As far as the hood? Everyone is entitled to customize their ride how they see fit, and shouldn't have to be subjected to bashing if it isn't exactly what anybody else might want.
So you guys should just chill out and be nice for a change!
