Subject: Ever hear of Lucas Additive?? IP: Logged
Message: I was told that it should be added to the differential fluid when doing a fluid change. Any comments?
Also, do I have to use Dodge OE fluids, or can I use something else for the front and rear differentials?
Thanks

Message: I added it to my tranny about 20k ago and now it whines a little, but as far as in the engine I would recommend it, but I would just stick to the good old 85w/140 rearend oil... Heavy Duty , of course.... That's what I just put in mine and there's no whine at all from what I can hear..

Message: i,ve been using lucus for about 5-6yrs in my truck and car. the car has 180k mi runs excellent, uses no oil[change oil at 6000 mi]also use it in trans.
to make along story short,i had a truck that i was selling.had my son bring it in the gargage to do a tune-up on it before i sold it[this was in the winter]i notice the lifters were noisey, ask my son what the oil pressure was,he said the gauge did,nt move when he start-it.so we started checking for the problem, sending unit, wires etc.
finally removed sending unit from motor no oil at all.[turned out to be broken oil pump shaft]fixed
it, truck ran great.
ran lucas in that truck too.can,t prove it but i think the lucas saved the engine.[we run the engine 20-30 minutes with no oil pressure trying to find the problem]
to answer your question, yes i,ve heard of it,i use it,i like it,i,d recomend it.
thats just my opinion, there like a$$holes everyone
got one.
