Subject: damage done to 4x4 driveline? IP: Logged
Message: on my '91 CC 4x4 5.2L, while moving I pulled the lever from 2H to 4H. The lever went all the way down to the 4L position.
Did it go in to the 4L gear? if so, did it do some damage? what made the lever go all the way down?
thanks for any info.

Message: Just try to drive it in 4H and 4L. If it doesn't make any obnoxious noises, you should be OK.

Message: Yes, thats normal. If you look in your owners manual, it says that the "prefered" method for shifting into 4HI or 4LO is while rolling. Shouldnt go into 4LO unless your under about 10mph.
