Subject: 00 Dak 4.7L ? (dual filter) IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone here installed the Amsoil Bmk15 Dual oil filter set-up on their 00 4.7L Dakota? Does anyone have pictures of where they mounted it? I want to install this set-up but, there isn't much space in the engine compartment to mount it. I'm concerned about mounting the dual set-up high in the engine compartment beacuse of the increase in oil pressure cause by pumping the oil uphill.
I have another option which is the Amsoil Bmk 11 bypass only filter set-up. This type of set-up calls for teeing off of the oil sending unit. My only problem is I don't have a shop manual and I don't know where the oil sending unit is.
Anyone who has added one of these kits or knows of someone who has, please let me know. Pictures would be most appreciated.
Thanks Bill,

Message: I was planning on doing that same thing. I put a dual filter set up on a ford f250 and it worked great. If you find any thing out about doing it on your dakota lemme know....

Message: i asked the same thing and didnt get answer. did search and nobody stated exactly how they mounted their by-pass system. would be nice to know. sandman spoke of an interesting single filter thats also a by-pass filter made by trasko. any feedback on those would be good too.
