Message: S&B filter flows more than a K&N filter. The numbers are out there.

Message: I have the 360AirIntakez. I don't see how the K&N could be any louder. When you get on it, the air really resonates inside the intake tube. Sounds very mean.

Message: My cone shaped K&N is on a home made tube and it does sound much different than stock. Very cool sound. Fifteen to Twenty HP increase...eh... maybe on high rpm range where it isnt felt as much as tourque. Its def worth it for the sound for sure.

Message: I too have a homemade intake which is quite possibly better than the aftermarket systems available, with a cold air box surrounding my K&N receiving air through the grill, a relocated IAT sensor to the elbow just above the filter (moved from the top of the intake manifold) and a TPS voltage raised to something (I forgot the voltage), and strait pipes behind the cat, I would estimate a total of 35-40 extra hp above stock, and 55-60 extra lbs of tq... Oh yeah , I also have a throttle body spacer that makes a cool sound....
I DESPERATELY need some posi-trac SOON b/c I can't keep the rear right from smokin even when I take off moderately , this Dakota will spin in 4th gear by the way...
My truck is a 5 spd 01' 4.7 L and will undoubtedly DESTROY any stock R/T out there , but R/T's are still very cool, PLUS , 20 MPG!!!

Message: 35-40hp? Are you kidding me? What fantasy are you living in. Go check that estimate on a dyno. You'll find that its more like 15h.p. Maybe even 20h.p. at the most.

Message: Oh yeah, I removed the clutch fan and only use the electric as well. And my estimate includes that gain in the total...

Message: I would love to dyno the rw hp/tq but it is quite expensive. I don't have the $$ to do it.
I would rather spend that money on a G- Tech anyway until I get a little more cash this summer.
I can't say a specific # for sure but I did each mod one at a time and each had a noticeable improvement in overall performance.
My bottom end torque is vastly improved if anyone has notice the lagginess of the 4.7 off the line compared to a 350. Now it has a lot more torque..
Future Plans= Supercharger/ Twin Turbo setup, roller rockers, cams, 50 shot, heads, intake manifold, injectors, fuel mgmt., throttle body, o-ring the block, clevite rod + main bearings, forged pistons, file fits, super strength connecting rods... MAYBE an automatic tranny for the track.. Probably not though...
I want to make 500+ reliable hp and near 600 tq to run 11's on slicks...... OH YEAH, POSI TRAC...
