Message: My truck would also shimmy at various speeds. I took it to a good alignment shop and it is perfect now. I lowered it up front and took it to one alignment shop and the shimmy was really bad, so I went to another one and it is fine. This may be your problem, but not sure. Hope this helps.

Message: uh, ball joints? bent rims, bad tires?
I didn't know alignments could cause a shimmy.
99rt says it did.

Message: If your having to physically hold the wheel at 1:00 (which and alignment will fix), Im sure this is causing uneven tire wear...."shimy shimy"

Message: jack it up from under the control arm(unloads the front end) move the tire side to side.look for slop on the inner or outer tie rods.then move up and down, look for slop in the ball joints, upper or lower.replace bad parts.find nothing wore out.then a good alignment should fix it.
