Message: Hi I just bought a 97 Dakota SLT extended cab with the 318 V8. It has about 110,000 Km on it and I was just wondering if there are anythings that I should be watching out for. I know the ball joints were replaced around 60,000km and the tie rod ends were just done. Both have been replaced with ones with grease fittings instead of the sealed ones. Is there anything else that I should watch for? Also the Dodge symbol on the hood is missing. Anyone know where I can get one and how much they might cost??

Message: Well , I don't know about the rest , but you should find a hood emblem on e-bay. Or do what I did. Go to a junk yard , see if they have a Dak with a mashed up hood , and see wat they want for it. The guy at the junk yard I went to just handed me a screwdriver and said I could have it if I took it off!! FREE!!!

Message: Thanks for the idea..never thought about that before. I just thought of another questions while I was reading this. My truck has the infinity speakers in it but no cd player...just the buttons for the 10 disk cd changer that I dont feel like buying. I was wondering if there is anything I have to do to hook up my sony cd player in the truck. I was told that the wiring for the infinity system is different from the standard dodge wiring. ANy info would be appreciated!!

Message: Hey Chris, not sure what type of service history you got with your truck but pull your cap and rotor off and look for any sign of water or white solids on the points under the cap, if your fuel pump has never been changed out then watch out for that, it's going to most likley go soon !!!! Spark and Fuel is one thing that you don't want to worry about while in the back country. Check out Crutchfield.com for an adapter to hook-up behind your stock system for the sony. Hmmm maybe if you have some Ele'c silicone you should do all your relays and connections with the stuff, I do mine once every 4 months and never have any corrosion under the hood. just a thought....
