Message: Having conflicting answers, hopefully one of the members can resolve...I put larger tires on my 2003 Dakota. My speedometer is off by 4 mph at 60. Question: Does that affect my computer readout on miles per gallon and DTE or is that data taken from the fuel system?

Message: Mike I would not trust that overhead console to much.Next time driving and watching that try going downhill if possible and take your foot off the gas and see what I mean.Call the place you got your tires and ask them for the revolutions per mile for that size tire. Then take your truck to someone with access to a drb3 and have them program that number in and your speedo problem will be solved.Just a reminder though, they may not be able to program that exact number but should be able to get close.

Message: Dog,
That makes perfect sense to me if I cam coasting down a hill and the engine is actually slowing the truck then gravity is what is keeping the engine truning not fuel... Also I have checked my overhead console on a number of occasions and always found it to be within a tenth of a MPG.
As for being 4 MPH off at 60 well that requires the computer be flashed for this...
Chris
