god i hope dodge has the ball to put the hemi in the dakota i had a 93 dakota with a 318 and i miss it and if they put that hemi in it i will be the proud papa of a new dakota any info would be great

Sorry guy's, from what I've heard form insiders is that the HEMI engine is too wide for the engine bay of the new Dakota that is due to come out. Unfortunately for all of us. I hope that I am wrong, but as of last this is correct.

i've heard many stories of first generation Hemi problems. Spring failures, valve failures, etc all on extremely low mileage engines.
let them iron out the bugs first. to be on the cutting edge means you may get cut.

Yes the new dakota will have the HEMI. The new dak looks like the new durango but with a box. And u wil be able to get the 3.7..4.7..and the HEMI. Just a matter of time when they bring out the dak, because they are both going to run on the same line. This is straight from the chrysler dealer I work at.

Isn't it suppost to be in the 05' models??? So that would mean this next Fall right :)) So in a couple more years I may actually be able to afford one ; )) I don't know though, I would still much rather have the 5.9 back :(( I think between the two the 5.9 was better as far as being reliable, but with a SC that hemi can put out 500+ RWHP :)) Now that's nice...

I talked to a couple of dealers in the last 2 weeks and none of them could confirm that the new Dakota would even get built much less have a Hemi in it. The latest internet rumor I've found is that the Dakota would be a 2006 model available around the summer of 2005 and that
Mitsa-bitch would be making it instead of Dodge.

Impossible that the HEmi gets 4mpg.. Mine averages 16mpg with regular driving. Whoever told u that is lying.

I saw an article testing the Hemi Durango and it go 11 MPG around town, that's fine with me since I knew what I was getting into with a big ol' Hemi!
Are you running low, mid or high test gas?? 87, 89, 91, or 93, etc??

I hate to burst your buble, but that's not a true Hemi... Look real close and you see exactly what I'm talking about if you've seen the new ones... To start with not nearly as big... Then it doesn't have the seperate coil per cylinder outfit, nor has the true new hemi valve covers... AND the fact that this is a very moded and all out exspense made type of project... Now if you have a 360 or 318 you too for $8000 can have this under your hood... All it is is a hemi conversion... Sorry, but maybe just maybe Dodge will get their heads out of their A$$es and either give back our 5.9's or give us a hemi :)) AND while their at it put a good high dollar 6speed in it...
As far as your pics goes, you can go to bankspower.com and really see a conversion to a 900 and some hp diesel with 6speed ; ))

just a quick observation, all that money spent and it still has the factory airbox, airbox snorkel, etc.....that's everybody's first do it yourself mod isn't it????
P.S. that isn't even close to looking like a Hemi just a little FYI

the black truck with the flames does have a HEMI in it... 528 CI HEMI
That was a Project of Hot Rod Magazine I believe... fuel injected and all.
those are real HEMI valve covers and that is a custom made air box... unless you can point out any truck that dodge makes that has em??
