Message: I have a 95 4x4 5.2.When I drive about 6-7 miles I loose oil pressure.I have put in two sending units in and it still shows no pressure. When I let idle in the driveway 15-20 minutes I hear no noise comming from the engine.I don't like to drive it with the light on just in case there is something wrong.Does anyone know the problem?

Message: when you rev the motor past 1000, does the oil pressure lift and then drop again below the area of 1000rpm, mine did this after i nicked a cam bearing

Message: Question. Is your motor running at a higher temp than normal. Useing right oil, Get oil pump checked. I know it's no Dodge but I had a `76 toyota and once I put in too thin of oil and when it got warm the oil became too thin for it to creat sufficeant oil pressure. Anoeth was the motot getting to warm. When oil get's too warm it thins out.

Message: All right, when I was a tech I seen this problem alot on magnums.I don't know if you bought your truck new,but sometimes people would use the cheaper oils out there and would not change the oil as regularly as they should. What would happen is the oil would sludge in the pan and partially clog the pick-up.Try attaching a true oil pressure gauge to the engine. If you find the pressure questionable, your going to need to drop the oil pan.First thing look at the pick-up to see if its clogged. If so remove the pick-up and clean. Now if you see metal in the pan I think you know where you're going to have to go next.

Message: If it is sludge in the pan would a motor flush a couple of times alleviate this without dropping the pan? I did this on my 88 at about 80k miles and I was amazed at all the crap that came out of that pan... Then I did this about once a year (25k miles) and at 130k I went in to do head gaskets and that motor was clean...

Message: Chris it all depends on how bad the problem really is.Yes what you stated could help but in Randys case I think that it should be checked, fixed if this is the cause, and from there on a good high performance oil be used.I like Mobil 1 and its easy enough to find.I think he is getting some oil cause he says that he hears no abnormal noise,YET.Now if I was you just keep the oil changed with the good stuff and don't use the snake oil cause it could cause bearing problems after time with use.
