Message: hey, ive got a '96 ext cab 4x4 5.2l v8 auto and i have a canopy on it and if i get on the gas even a little bit and the tires break lose it starts hopping like a damn pogo stick and i want to take the canopy off wich will lighten the back end even more. any ideas to help stop this besides softer suspension or sand bags in the bed?

Message: Do you have limeted slip? My 93 5.2 4x4 ext cab auto has it. Check tires for proper inflation. You could lower the tire pressure makeing it grabb better but that would cause more wear if you lower too much. sure you knew that though. you could change type of tire you got on it? What do you have on it now?

Message: Cheapest way I've heard of that works, is try the leaf spring clamps, they're siad to work as good as cheap traction bars.

Message: Todd, you are right. Leaf spring clamps can be found in kit form at like autozone and places like that for under $10, instill in minutes and make all the difference. You will still spin but without that dangerous hop in between....

Message: As far as needing more load capacity try what I did. I installed a set of air adjustable overload springs/air bags. they are a great way to add that needed cappacity without affecting the normal ride. You can get them from most auto parts stores or through JC Whitney.

Message: Trying to drive off a jack is not a good way to check for LSD. the easiest way it to jack both tires off the ground, put the trans in neautral and rotate one tire, watch to see if the other tire rotetes the same way (LSD) opposite way (Open diff)...
