i was at my local department store the other day and seeing as i just bought a 2001 dakota r/t. i went over to the magazine rack and looked for a mopar magazine . well i found one and inside it had a bone stock 4.7 liter dakota vs a bone stock 5.9 r/t in a 1/4 mile drag race, both were regular cabs and both were driven by professional drivers and the 4.7 beat the pants off of the r/t in every run , i dont remeber the exact numbers, im just wondering has anyone else seen this article??? i still love my r/t more and after my warrenty is up im gonna start with the mods

I have a dodge motorsport edition with a 4.7. I ran a dodge 5.9 r/t extended cab at island dragway. He ran a 15.3 in the 1/4 and i ran a 16.3 in the 1/4 on a full tank a gas. I think the 4.7 is a good motor. As soon as they come out with performance parts that it would be even more of a bad ass motor.

ill have to agree with the magazine article in Mopar Now. i have an 02 4.7 RC Sport. Dead stock it ran 15.50's @ 85, plenty enough to keep up with a stock RC R/T, or at least the ones that run at my track. This is my truck now:
