I own a 99 cc R/t and i smoked the doors off the new silverado ss before i got my motor swap. Now i have a 408 stroker and spintech true duals with jba headers. NO COMPITITION!!!!!!! Bring on the lightnings,silverado's and anything else you think is fast. Last week i ran a 12.56 at 109 mph

The problem is people are spending too much money on apperance. Look if you have a 4.3L before you go making it look like a hot wheels truck take some time and think to yourself is it worth it? Why dont you just get a used r/t for less money and not worry about having to try and make it look like it will run. In most of my experiances people try to make s-10s look like they could grow wings and fly when in fact they cant even get down the track. Alot of the time if a person does not know what they are looking at they think my r/t is a 6 cyl. My God the other car companies are making sport trucks look bad.

Ive got a silverado SS pushing out 620hp at the rear tires running a 11 second quater mile at 122mph. Any of you dakota people wanna race and you live in Michigan Let me know. I don't mind losing just love to race, so you if got a fast truck lets race.

You two are hilarious! I'll borrow my friend's R/T Dak and smoke you both at the same time. He's in the low 9's, and you two can't break ten and think you can win against an R/T? LMAOROTFL!!!
The SS is nice, but it's heavy as $hit! And a Blazer doesn't stand a chance. My 5.2L 4x4 can beat the upper 12's! You need to get like a stage two weight-reduction on that Blazer and a full racing weight-reduction on that SS, then you might stand a chance against a non-reduced R/T.

Unless you have a truck that runs 9's you don't have any right to talk smack. If i wanted to turn my boost up to 9psi and put in a 100 shot of nos i could be in the 9's too. I could also just go barrow MY FRIENDS prostreet mustang and run a 6 sec quater mile. But that just stupid beacause i don't own it. WE ALL HAVE FRIENDS WITH FAST CARS, BUT SOME OF YOU JUST DON'T HAVE ONE YOUR SELF.

No one will take the 4.3L challenge. What a shame. I guess no one wants to waist their time!LOL!
Personally, I don't want to risk having the rod in the 4.3L coming out and hitting my R/T. Of course, the rod would have to come out the front of the Chevy in order to hit me because I'll be way out in front!

Matt, kiss my butt. My truck is plenty fast, but his is faster. If I was into speed and not towing MY 17FT HEAVY 1985 BAYLINER, I'd put everything into top-end and do speed-mods like crazy. See I need this truck not only for show, but for work as well. I can't afford to make it fly, because my boat is too dang heavy to tow behind my ten-speed.

Have you guys got any idea how many supposedly 10 second cars have been beaten by 14 second cars that actually went to the track to find out? I guess the same would hold true for 9 second friend's trucks and 5.2L 4x4s. Matt - the BS flag is flying on your claims also.

I know down at my local track there is an very quick outlaw class dakota. I don't know the exact numbers but it must be in the 10's at least from what I can remember, I'll find out how fast he/she is runnning this summer when the track reopens.

There never has been and never will be a 9 or 10 sec 4.3L anything. I know what those POS do when you pump them up just a little bit. THEY GRENADE!
How long did Cyclones and Typhoons last after they quit making them? It was like 2 years after production ended that they all dissapeared. Most Dakotas that were made 15 years ago are still running.

As for the engine, I had a friend I grew up with that was a Chevy fanatic. Jason Hales. He first had an S10 that blew-up, then got a 4x4 Blazer that ran for a while, then blew-up. After that he got a Ram1500 2wd and kept it until he married and had kids, and was forced into trading it in for a family car, hehe! Another reason I won't get married until I'm rich!
