99 5.2 litre when i try to change my thermostat to 180 i get a code that says engine running to cold. dealer say i cant put 180 in this truck however it runs alot better with 180 stat and 3923 autolights.whats up

i dont know why u would have a problem. i have a question though. i have a 2002 5.9 and went to autozone to ask for a gasket for the 180 stat i just got and they said it wasnt available. then i went to another place and they had no record of if they even make one. so do i actually need a gasket? and if so where could i get it? thanks

from what I've read in other posts you just use the gasket off of the old thermostat

1st- dont listen to the dealer. They are the dumbest people in the world.
2nd us get the gasket for an older 5.2 5.9 dakota. 99.999% sure it is the same for 98 up.
3rd rtv works just dandy. Used it the first time I changed tstat
