In 2000 I know they came out with the 4.7.
My question is, was that available in a 5 speed?
I think a 00 4.7 MTX standard cab shor box 2wd would ROCK...but would settle for a auto i guess.
What kinda MPG do the 4.7s get?
I have an 00 Fire Abmer 3.9 2wd sport now, wouldnt mind trading up to a 4.7 if I could get it in FIRE AMBER, hehehe, thanks

I have a 2000 4.7 with the 5spd, I can get around 19-20 mpg with the hard tonneau cover on the highway. Mine is a 4x4

I have a 00 4.7 5sp, 3.92 and it gets 16.5mpg, allways. Hey, and it's Amber Fire....Very few mods and have run best 1/4 of 14.97@ 89mph

I ran a 15.54 @ 88.38 mph (G-Tech Pro) 2003 dakota 4.7L 5-speed w/ custom ram air intake (did the run with no air filter) 2"into cat/2-1/2"into magnaflow with 13"turn down length after muffler, put AirTemp sensor on cowl during run, 3.55 gears w/LSD. What are your very few mods that you did???? I plan on getting a Stage 2 Jet Chip and Headers.... Wish I had enough money for one of those Super Charger kits that are out there.

I'm running a 00 4.7 5-spd, and it has the Paxton S/C on it.. It averages 19mpg now, since my right foot has eased up. Before the supercharger went on, it wasn't uncommon to get 22mpg.
The resale on the 00 4.7L 5-spd is surprisingly low, so trading up won't be a big hit on the wallet, plus you will probably see a mileage increase over your 3.9L.
Good luck in your search, as these things are hard to come by used.

I've got what nitrous steve said but in a CC. I love it but it'd be nice not to have the extra couple hundred pounds from the CC.
