Is there any way to get a louder exhaust note fron my 97' slt 5.2 without buying a whole new exhaust system? I drove a daytona version 5.9 and the sound was awsome!

The cheapest and easiest way to so is, Take out the muffler and put in a straight pipe in its place. Will sound bad ass and will be loud but not annoying.

Hey 94 Steve, I was thinking of the possibility of some sort of resonator that will attach to the exhaust. Only to accent the sound I already have?

derek it will let exhaust and sound out before the end of the pipe, same way a hole in your exhaust will make the vehicle sound different, also gives a few extra cfm

About where should the holes be drilled and how big? Will this cause any problems within the exhaust system?

just buy a Flowmaster 40 series to replace your stock one.

dont drill holes.... yes it is a cheap method, but i would rather change to a flowmaster first

hahaha...drill holes.....I did that to my 5.0 stang when I was 16. Now I'm 21 and I could afford to buy an exhaust system. `,=o) Just get a flowmaster and some 2 1/2" pipe after the cat or 3" if you want it louder, oh yeah, Put a 3" piece of pipe about 10" in length after the flowmaster muffler and get a turn down pointed at the ground.(louder than having a tail pipe thats for sure...)

Thanks folks but i think I may have to head for some Flowmasters. Read several posts and it seem that most are leading that direction. I can afford them but i am concearne about changing things from factory tolerances. My neighbor has a chevy that he has totally redone and it seems like he is always repairing things daily whenever he runs the thing! I don't want this seeings how my Dak is also my work vehicle and runs constantly every day. Any advise ( real advise only would be appreciated and any input greatful.)
