Subject: LOUD STARTUP IP: Logged
Message: When I first crank up my 2002 4.7, in the morning, my engine really revs up loud for the first 100 yards that I drive. Sounds like the tranny is slipping, but the power is there. After about 100 yards, it quiets down to normal for the rest of the day. Anyone else experiencing this? Anyone know why it does it for 15 seconds? Thanx

Message: The transmission on the 4.7's are set with a variable modulator. This is controlled by the second last capacitor on the pcm. Chrysler intelligence forecasted the smart-a** comments from R/T (Replacement Testosterone) owners therefore this enable you to successfully tow any R/T out of the trouble their mouths get them into.

Message: It's actually your viscous fan, the belt driven one. When it hasn't spun in awhile, the fluid in it needs to get where it's supposed to be to run, if the mechanism isn't too hot, then it slips (clutch) like it's supposed to, hence, no more roaring sound.
Do a search on the subject here on this site and get rid of that thing!
