Subject: 99 r/t down pipes IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 r/t and was wondering how restrictive the stock down pipes are? I have the dual inlet cat and the pipes do not look like they are that restrictive. Any info would help. thanks

Message: What do you mean by down-pipe? Are you talking about the pipes that go from the exhaust manifolds to the y-collector? If that's what you mean, unless you have a huge power adder, I wouldn't worry about them too much.

Message: I think when he says down pipes he is talking
about the pipes connected to the headers and
go to the cat. I just found out my 99 is the
same way there is no Y-Pipe the cat has a
dual inlet and single outlet.

Message: The 99s have a dual inlet cat as you described, no Y pipe. If you are considering going larger-- just go with Mopar headers... the pipes are bigger, you have larger primary tubes with the headers.
