seriously... it's probably about 5 to 8 mpg depending on how you drive, my 99 R/T gets about that... and now gas might go up to $3 a gallon.. oh fun.

I would suggest a toyota. Did I say that?
Seriously I average about 12-17 miles per
gallon in my 5.9 Dak but I get so much more
in smiles per gallon.

Remember thats driving normally down the highway. I could only get 3 mpg out of a hybrid if you pushed one of those too the floor as well. Its the nature of the bussiness, your driving a vehicle with a combustion engine and your going to have to pump some gas into it if you plan on moving your ass anywhere at a decent rate of speed.

My 97 Ram SS/T 5.9 gets about 14mpg with normal driving.

I just recently bought a 99 dakota R/T-and i get about 14.7 mpg-but i drive fast as hell-wherever i go-and i only have to put bout $17 a week in the tank

16-18 here and I punch her quite a bit...well, at least once every 10 miles or so on average.
Then my wife gets out and I floor it....j/k but could not resist.

I have a 1997 Ram 1500 SLT with the 5.9L. Reg Cab, long wheel base and get approx 14 city and 18 hwy. Has 50,000 miles and runs great. No problems at all.

I have a 02 Ram 5.9, 8 city if I'm lucky, 10 highway, 3-4mpg when I'm towing. I owned a 95 4-door F-350 with a monster 460 in it and got a hell of a lot better gas milage than my Ram, it also weighed 2000lbs more. Its rediculous what mpg these engines get. I should have got a 4.7.

UNBELIVABLE 14.7 mpg i get 9.5 around town. just took it on a 425 mile trip INTERSTATE and only got 14.9 HMM you may want to check that calculation again seems odd for a 5.9

My stock 99 gets 16.5 Highway. I'm Canadian 10km's cost about a buck or less. If you want good gas milage buy a car.
