 Subject: exhaust exchange?

Well to start I have a 97 5.2 ext. cab 4x4. I am not getting anywhere w/ the true duals, no one wants to do them, or i have to pay for a spintech kit for a rediculous price. Can anyone tell me what to do to the exhaust to make it pretty damn loud and get some gains? I HAVE to have cats and a muffler, however what do i want to change? y-pipe, headers, hi flow cat, what brand of muffler?? Let me know what ya'll think is the best combination and where to get each item. Thanks!
