the 03 rt w/ the measily 5.9 puts out about 250hp stock right? well the 04 rt will have the HEMI and can be ordered with manual transmission and that puts out 350hp stock. throw a hypertech programer and intake/exhaust and your pushin 400hp in a regular cab shortbed truck.

More bogus tales from the dealers. Dealers don't know a darn thing. They are trained to move what they have in inventory, not what's coming down the pipeline.

First I say bogus. Second if it were true, no way on the manual. The 04 is going to be the same body as the 97-02 and the only manual they are using on the Hemi's in the 2500 series Rams is the NV-4500. That won't fit the Dakota. Then what about the rest of the drivetrain? Are they going to put the Dana 60 in there as well? All that would be cool but I don't see this happening for the last year of current bodystyle production. The Hemi I think is still possible, but it will be matched to a 545RFE automatic just like in the 1500 Ram.
