 Subject: fuel pressure reading for 92 5.2 V8??

Anyone know FOR SURE what the fuel pressure readings are supposed to be for a *92* 5.2litre with MPI??
I have two books...one (Chiltons) says 14psi, the other (Haynes) says 31psi...
Mine reads 38-40 psi at key on, and about 32-33psi at idle........
So which do I believe? 14 psi seems kind of low for MPI.....

the 14 psi you mentioned ,im quite certain its for the tbi models
1993 and earlier MPI
31 psi vacum hose on engine running
39 vacum hose of the regulator engine running
94/95 39 psi
96 on 44/45 psi

That seems right....thats what I am getting....
Trying tochase a problem with rough idle/rough acceleration...a miss, basically...that comes and goes...
Next step I guess is a new set of 19lb FMS injectors...

hey i got a 92 with the 318 magnum. mine idles rough and has a miss too. if you find out what it is please tell me . its anoying.

no i havent. i was thinking about changing the wires and distributor. then checking compression on the engine. then checking fuel injectors. then i will go to emissions stuff.

I did a while back (tried an aftermarket at the time and no good...had to get from dealer)....
Is yours a miss/rough idle that comes and goes or constant???

The #1 cause of misfiring is a bad plenum pan gasket. Look into your TB and check for oil.
Ok, maybe its the #2 or #3 cause... Please don't hurt me.

My 95 Dakota 5.2 keeps throwing a 27 engine code.
It comes back to fuel injector and runs rough when
it happens. I've everything from PCM to injectors
to crankshaft sensor to ohming out all the
injector wires and still have not found the
problem. Checking fuel pressure today. Any
suggestions from anybody? Thanks
