My neighbor and I are having an argument regarding the cubic inches of the 4.7 vs 5.2 vs 5.9. He says the 4.7 is the 318 and I thought that the 5.9 was the 360, the 5.2 was the 318, and the 4.7 was a new generation of mopar engine with less displacement than the 318, yet built to make the same hp with better mileage. There is only $10 riding on this, but hes being such and ass I just need to know. By my estimation the 4.7 would be around a 280cu.in. The guys here are correct the 4.7 is 287ci. Not to mention a better engine hands down, not to knock the 5.2 guys, but its lighter and has newer technology which is why it gets better mileage and has more H.P. and Tourque.

If you want to know how to calculate c.i. from litres, you just multiply the # of litres by 61 and that gives you cubes. Ex: 5.2*61=317.2 round up to nearest whole # = 318.
