I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2 (2wheel drive) and I was wondering how much torque and HP this beast has? ALso, for all the experts out there, how much HP do you think it has if I added a K&N FIPK to it? THanks
Adam

my 92 had 235 but I think it was lowered to 230 in 1993. My guess would be 225 to 230 hp and 295 to 300 ftlbs of torque

Not enough!

They advertise 230hp but I remember someone actually dynoed their stock dakota with 318 and it was only pushing somewhere between 180-190hp and the rear wheel.

I watched a 96 with mild mods dyno at Carlisle last year and he pulled a 227 with 287ft/lbs. You will definatly notice a difference with the K&N FIPK. Not only does it give more power, but it gets an evil sound to it. You can hear it suching in air right at 2000. I finally machined my TB so I wouldn't have so much noise, cleaner flow into the engine. One thing you will notice is when you put the kit in the hood insulation just touches the threads on top. I just reved mine and the movement of the moter cleared that problom right up

I have a 93 dak x-cab 4x4 318.The correct ratings are 235 hp & 265ft.Lbs of torque. In 94 they changed the cam to quiet down the valve train which lowered the hp. to 230.
