Message: Hm... tough call. The '93 is a lighter truck, but then, the 4.7L is a lighter engine... My guess is that the 3.92 gears in the 4.7L are going to help it immensily, and if the RPMs are allowed to get up into where the 4.7L shines, it's going to win. Is it going to win by a lot? I don't know, the 3.92 gears will probally offest the 4.7Ls lacking low-end- torque when compared to that 5.2L...
Run it and see, I'm leaning towards the 4.7L though. It may be in a heavier truck, but the engine itself is lighter, revs faster, and produces more power higher up than the 5.2L. It's also got the 3.92 rear-end, where the 5.2L has the 3.55. Both are Autos, so thats a non-issue I feel. I personally think that if the 4.7L was a stick, it -definatly- would win if someone who knew how to drive it was running it.
