Subject: suggestions on response off the line IP: Logged
Message: I need some help with a question about my dak. I have
a 1997 Club Cab Dakota, 5.2l V8(318), 4 spd auto with
the tow pkg. I love the truck, and after about 40mph, it
hauls a$$, but it's a little sluggish of the line. I already
have flowmaster exhaust and a drop in K&N Filter.
What else can I do to get more jump off the line that's
reasonably priced? I thought about a K&N intake, but
will there be a noticeable difference in power? I would
really appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

Message: I have a 99 CC with the 318. I have the same mods as you with the exception of the addition of a F+B TB and JBA headers. I found best that when I'm staged, I hold the brake and get the RPM's to about 1500 and let go of the brake to get the tires rolling. Within about 1/2 second, I mash the throttle. Did I say that I also drop the tire pressure on my Nitto's to about 24 lbs. Try it!
