Subject: Problems with using a breather? IP: Logged
Message: I recently had the trick mopar valve covers added to my truck along with 1.7 rockers and a new round chrome air filter atop the throttlebody. I was wondering since orginally the breather was recycled into the air intake and it helped by sucking on it through vaccum but now they (the shop who did the work) replaced it with just a small breather filter. What are the advantages and disadvantages to this setup? I didn't want there to be some kind of problem is pressure building up where its not suppose to or something like that. Thanks in advance for the help and expertise.

Message: It should work fine. It's just getting air from under the hood instead of the filter housing. The filter for the breather is in the breather.

Message: It works fine that way. It could be a problem if you have emissions testing where you live but it might not. You wouldn't know until you take the test.

Message: Suprised I even noticed. I might work 50 hours a week and not have the time and patience, but damn if I'm going to let a shop do it and then not inspect their work. I didn't feel comfortable messing with the rockers and the whole cold lash thing but I did inspect the job they did and that was really my only concern.
