Don't get me wrong... i'd much rather have my dakota over a wrx any day.. way more practical.. but i just saying stock vs stock a dakota can't keep up.... until i through my kenne bell on that is...... two weeks and counting!!!!!!

"stock vs. stock" in this case isnt exactly equal...imports suck and that's the bottom line. a stock import without the turbo would make about.....100 hp on the dyno?.....if Dodge made the dakota RT stock with a turbo, nobody would be talkin...but they don't need to, they dont hafta cheat to sell a car...so basically to summarize this reply-
IMPORTS SUCK V8 EXHAUST.

selling a car with a turbo is cheating? yes,
that is a 2.2L subaru running low 10's (it can
run 9's)
shouldnt that big 5.9 V8 go twice as fast since
its so much bigger? your dakota and my
dakota have a V8 because they are trucks.
these trucks were not made to go fast, they
were made to tow and haul, hence the word
truck. if you want to go fast, buy a mustang,
camaro, or import and mod it.
I hate to break it to you, but the japanese are a
few steps ahead of the US automobile
manufacturers.

I THINK ALL THESE IMPORTS YOU SEE ARE WAY OVER RATED. COMPARE APPLES TO APPLES, CAUSE I HAVE A V8 DAKOTA AND I WOULD BE MORE THEN HAPPY TO SIT DOWN WITH ANY IMPORT PICKUP ON THE MARKET. FOR THAT MATTER, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE LIGHTNING, ANY PICKUP ON THE MARKET. "WIN IF YOU CAN, LOOSE IF YOU MUST, BUT ALWAYS CHEAT!!!"

you guys are crazy... race a truck against anything you want... it all comes down to weight vs. HP... it is perfectly fair to have a V8 in a 4500lb truck... pick you battles wisely.. there are some big trucks that are fast... I dare you to race a Banks powerpak built Cummings diesel in a 2500 auto... have seen them smoke some 35" BFG all terrain's well into 2nd gear... any body see that diesel excursion running 12.9 @ 124... just watch out..
